What can you expect and how can you prepare for this important meeting?I’ve had dozens of requests for information about what happens in your visa interview and what can you to expect on interview day. What will it be like when you arrive at the consulate; what can you bring, what is the security like, how long will it take – what to expect on interview day so you can prepare for that big day?Student Visa Interview ChecklistDon’t forget to Sign I-20 before going to consulate.Do mock interviews and go over all the questions in my ebook at least two times speaking your answers out loud to a friend/family member.Be relaxed, slow down, and speak in a friendly tone.Listen to the entire question before you answer.Avoid having the Consular Officer repeat the question if possible.Do not give more information than is needed to answer the question being asked by the Consular Officer.Answer only the question asked of you – don’t talk too much because you are nervous.Do not provide an answer that is not supported with paperwork or is different than your original application information.Do not provide answers that are not supported with your financial paperwork.Know why you will leave after you graduate and what you will do when you get back to your home country.Dress appropriately – how you look is important.Show enthusiasm and optimism throughout the interview.It is okay if you do not know the answer to a question.
