U.S. Chamber Pushes for More Foreign Skilled Workers September 29th, 2018 Foreign workers, H-1B, immigration law, Specialty Occupations | Tags: Foreign Workers, H-1B visas, immigration law, Sponsoring foreign workers | No Comments »Just last month, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the American Council on International Personnel reportedly urged the federal government to eliminate the regulatory ceilings set to limit the number of “highly skilled” workers allowed to enter the U.S. under the so-called H-1B program.“The best policy for the U.S. is one that sides with freedom and innovation, not restriction. It is a policy where the H-1B cap is either eliminated or set high enough that we can let the market decide on the number of new skilled foreign nationals who work in America,” the 81-page report said. The report, entitled “Regaining America’s Competitive Advantage: Making Our Immigration System Work,” has documented evidence that the H-1B visa work program has been a key factor in U.S. competitiveness and economic growth. The report also refuted anecdotal evidence that highly skilled foreign nationals are paid less than their American counterparts, allegedly driving down the costs of labor. It also contended that H-1B visa training and scholarship fees have funded more than 53,000 math and science college scholarships for U.S. students through the National Science Foundation. If you want to know more about the H-1B visa program for foreign skilled workers, check out the relevant portion of our Website or give us a call to make an appointment at
