Transferring Your Visa StatusAre you transferring your visa status from another college or university?F1 Visa students who are already attending a U.S. school may transfer their immigration status to another college or institution, if they are admitted to the other program, provide proof of financial support, and have continuously maintained immigration status while in the U.S.Students must enroll in courses at their new college within 5 months of the last date of attendance at the previous school or the end date of OPT (optional practical training).When transferring your visa status, after you are admitted to your new college and receive the official offer letter, you must ask the current institution to transfer the SEVIS record to your new school.Students must also, download a Transfer Clearance Form from their current school and submit it to the international student office at their current school.
