Push to Reauthorize EB-5 Visas for Foreign Investors

Push to Reauthorize EB-5 Visas for Foreign Investors June 27th, 2018 | Author: JC Admin | Filed under: EB5, immigration law, visas | Tags: EB-5 visa, foreign investors, immigration law | No Comments » Within the last 30 days, legislators have introduced various bills in the U.S. Congress that would reauthorize the EB-5 Regional Center Pilot Program. This program allocates a minimum of 3,000 permanent residence “green” cards for foreign individuals who invest in certain regional centers designated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. These EB-5 regional center investments can be as little as $500,000 for targeted areas in need of employment growth, unlike the $1 million required for investment in non-targeted areas. The investments must also create or preserve at least 10 jobs for U.S. workers.Unlike other visa programs, the EB-5 program has never experienced demand that has exceeded its limits (which is roughly 7 percent of yearly global limits on all employment based immigrant visas). However, this program is becoming increasingly popular, and it is estimated that the annual cap for EB-5 visas could be reached within the next few years.Foreign investors who are looking to grow in the U.S. might want to consider getting on board with this program before its popularity puts these EB-5 visas in short supply. If you are a foreign investor looking for permanent residence in the U.S. and a chance to grow your business here, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (847) 564-0712 for an appointment to speak with a qualified attorney.
