India Students Love STEM FieldsTo support the recent statistics here at universities in the USA, it seems that India students love STEM fields. A recent report out of Washington, D.C., says as many as 113,813 Indian students are currently enrolled in various US universities and educational institutions. The numbers show that India students are the second largest number of international students in America. The report is from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and says India students love STEM fields and this accounts for second largest number of international students in this country. Students from China, 290,133, are at the top in the report on international students. Showing how much India students love STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), over three-fourths of Indian students are enrolled in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) courses. India students, in fact, make up the highest number of STEM students. As many as 78 per cent of the India students are enrolled in STEM categories, while the figure for China is 37 per cent, the report said, which is based on data from the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). That is almost double the amount of India STEM students compared to China.The SEVIS is a web-based system that includes information on international students, exchange visitors and their dependents while they are in the United States. As many as 29 per cent of the international students (who get F and M categories of students’ visa originate from China and 56 per cent of all international students in the country are males, the report said.If you are trying to get your F-1 student visa, you need to prepare for your interview.
